All these months of studying for the physical therapy board exam and about a week of waiting to see your NPTE or NPTAE results are here. The moment of truth about your NPTE preparation is about to be revealed by checking the FSBPT website. There may be a bit of nervousness as you wait to see your results but whether good or not so good, you’ll want to remember that you finished this important exam. Your future will be determined in just a few moments.

PASS – Great! Congratulations! You can have a big sigh of relief and know that all the months of studying for the NPTE have paid off. Go celebrate but remember you must not relay any information to others about the exam questions. You can then begin to start your next journey and look forward to helping others as a licensed physical therapist. I wish you the best of practicing in your future PT endeavors!

FAIL – Oh no! My condolences but it’s not the end of the world. Even if it may be embarrassing and hurtful this doesn’t make you any less of a physical therapist. This is just another bump in the road on your NPTE journey but don’t let the negative emotions dwell too much as they can keep you from seeing the positiveness. It doesn’t feel good but knows that you are not alone and that you can pick yourself up and try again.

If this is not your first time to see this on the NPTE, take a deep breath and think of what seeds of benefit may this present to you. When you don’t know why you didn’t pass, you’ll want to consider help and guidance so that you can begin again. Therapy Exam Prep (TEP) provides free live webinars and there’s one about “Being Successful After an Unsuccessful attempt” if you didn’t pass. There’s an upcoming webinar and you can learn about it here.

Last but not least is to keep your head up and know that the next physical therapy board exam can be your last one. When ready, you’ll want to learn from the past and change any study habits that prevented you from succeeding this time. Learn more about being successful on your next NPTE preparation with TEP’s courses.
