Hazel Anderson shares her thoughts about her TEP experience:

Hazel Anderson passes the NPTE

Hazel Anderson passed the March 2012 NPTE

“Wow, I just passed the NPTE!! A very long awaited dream is a reality! Of course looking back now, there are lots of things that I have learned along the way but if I have to choose one thing to share with anyone preparing to sit the NPTE, it would be -Believe in yourself – sounds cliche maybe but you really have to realize that you’re absoulutely capable of passing this exam and that it is just an achievable stepping stone on the way to success as a PT in the US.

If you’re anything like you me you may have studied abroad, graduated and maybe even worked as a PT only to discover that you have a mountain of ‘general credits’ and ‘red tape’ to get through before you are even eligible to prepare for the NPTE. When you finally get to the actual exam preparation, you realize that you’re not sure how to tackle passing the exam and you’re probably not part of a class so you’re all alone!

This exam requires perseverance and continued motivation to keep on studying even when you’re tired after work or kids and unsure exactly what you need to be studying and how to go about cramming everything in for a huge five hour exam! This is where TEP comes in!

After failing once, I was feeling a desperate, lacking in confidence and unsure where to look for help. I was not keen on doing a mini 3 day course in another state- it just seems too short to be of enough assistance for this exam. And then I came across the TEP website while looking on the FSBPT site for suggested courses.

Initially, I was a little skeptical that it could achieve all it promised but it seemed legitimate so I signed up and I’m glad I did! This course is definitely an excellent way to ready yourself for the big day! Miye and her team of PTs are amazingly supportive and ready to answer any questions you have about almost anything!

The course is structured but flexible and if you’re willing to put the effort in, TEP will prepare you mentally, physically and emotionally for the exam. TEP does not just guide you passively through any one book but encourages a very active approach to learning using focus topics to address any weak areas you may have.

The added bonus is that you have a virtual class of other students to interact with if you choose to and this is a great way to learn – asking and answering questions together. The live webinars and on demand videos are great and all the extra resources provided (like charts and visual aids for areas like pharmacology and systemic diseases) made the revising process a whole lot easier.

Overall, I cannot say enough good about this course – you should sign up! I did a few months ago and now I’m searching for a job as a PT!”
