As Therapy Exam Prep has helped thousands of participants pass the NPTE and NPTAE, a common question asked is when should I enroll into one of TEP’s program?
Here are some general guidelines about enrolling in TEP’s three month online NPTE webinar exam prep program.
To prepare for the following NPTE / NPTAE exams:
- January – join August / September programs and no later than November
- April – join November / December programs and no later than February
- July – join March / April programs and no later than May
- October – join May / June programs and no later than August
You’ll also want to consider the following situations and adjusting your starting date:
- Add 1 month for certificate of completion
- Add 1 month for holidays (especially Nov/Dec/Jan)
- Add 1 month if having to travel into the United States to take the exam
- Add 1 month if have taken multiple exams and fear is high
- Add 1 month if you are not a great test taker
- Add 2-3 months if working or going to school full time
- Add 2-3 months if your academic foundations are not strong
- Add 2-3 months if you are foreign trained (6 months have been seen to help the most)
- Add 3-6 months if you are only able to study < 3 hours a day
These have been accurate guidelines for successful preparations. When in TEP’s program, there are assessments to help guide how much preparation based on various factors as well as how ready you are. There is definitely a difference between those that rush and those that are fully prepared both on scores and confidence. The more confident and ready the higher the scores. TEP is about being proactive and being prepared in three aspects 1) test taking skills including exam analysis, 2) clinical thinking approach as the exam is not academic and 3) holistic approach where you are working on your mindset, your health and ways to eliminate stress. Straight forward! Thanks. I fall in the last category ( add 3-6 months if you are only able to study less than 3 hours day) and this was one thing I heard from TEP when I was in the program, the moderators suggested a length of study time depending on the results of the baseline-practice test in the beginning of the 3-month course, and other tips ( like the body influences, etc.) followed along the way. I remember going to a 2 day-review course a years before I heard about TEP, if I would have been coached this way like… Read more »
Great to hear you are following the guidelines to give yourself the best outcome possible which is to PASS! Proper preparation is key and as you know it’s cheaper to take a bit longer to study rather than rush and not pass.
One thing that is unclear to me from the course offerings descriptions is whether there are structured things to do each week, day, etc as provided by a syllabus, and if the assignments have due dates? Also, in what format is the 3-months? Are you able to go at your own pace, such as study 6 hours one day and three the next based on if you have a part-time work schedule? Thanks so much for your input!
TEP is a program which structure for daily / weekly that is provided in the syllabus. For further questions be sure to use the contact form and also look at the FAQ page.
